If I have to name this site with only one word, I would say – BDSM. Yes, pain and pleasure, dirty fantasies, and sick dreams are what people on this site need.
Is Collarspace worth it?
I’d say no, just for the reason that you cannot even chat with other members. You can see their profiles, visit their partner’s sites, check events, but no chatting and dating.
Sign-up Process
It takes several steps to create a profile on collarspace. At first, you have to write down a username, create a password, and an email.
The next step includes the following fields: gender identity, orientation, sexuality, ethnicity, age, and the desired partner. In the third step, members have to inform about their interests and skills.
The profile has to be reviewed and approved, and only then it will become available to all active members of the platform.
Collarspace Website Usability
Collarspace has a very flat design, and although I cannot say that it is a problem, it looks very cheap. On the left, you can see a navigation bar with all possible options which this site offers its visitors.
All these options can be divided into two categories – those which refer to dating and those which offer you something like buying toys for adults or visit specific events, also for adults, if you know what I mean.
So, let’s focus on dating options since we are here to know whether collarspace is good for dating. “Browse Photos” allows you to see the photos of random members. There are a few filters that can minimize the range of search.
For example, you can select to show only females. “Who’s Viewing Me” and “Admirers” are the features which will help you to monitor who watched your profile or added it to favorites. There is also “Chatrooms” but they are empty, and nobody answers there.
User Account
User account looks very inconvenient and not user-friendly at all. There are no sections like on all dating sites. You need to scroll a lot because that little window allows you to read no more than four lines of text.
That was the worst idea that a designer could implement when he worked on this site. The Collarspace mobile version looks even look at these guys worse.
Nevertheless, what do people write in their profiles? It seems there are no strict requirements, and everyone can shape it as he or she wants. I saw some profiles where a person had a few headings like What I like, What I hate, About me.
Others just write down some information about them in a free narrative manner. In other words, chaos, and sometimes it is very difficult to understand what one is looking for on such sites like collarspace.
Credits and Payment Methods
I didn’t manage to find information on billing. As a rule, you find it rather fast because almost any action with other members costs some credits.
So, when I decided to write to a user, I was informed that my profile had to be approved first. They didn’t clarify how long that would take but noted that this procedure took more time currently.
I waited for a week but still got neither approval nor denial. I am not sure that this site is for free. Anyway, I still couldn’t contact other members, though I had an opportunity to visit the page with sex toys where I can buy some adult products.
Hmm, maybe this site is not about dating at all? Maybe it is just a huge fraud used for advertising their sex shop?
Is Collarspace Safe?
I quite tolerate other people’s sexual fantasies and dreams, and if they like BDSM stuff, who can judge them? However, even on very conservative dating websites, it is recommended to be very careful if you decide to meet offline.
There are a lot of useful tips and recommendations on what you should and should not do on the first date. Collarspace says not a word about safe dating.
Moreover, some of its members… well, how is it better to say? They are people with very sick fantasies, and I would think twice or even ten times whether it is worth meeting them in real life and whether it is safe at all. Who knows what they have on their mind and how far they can go.
I’d rather check for some collar space alternative where the issue of members safety is taken under control by the sites’ administration.
Concluding Thoughts
My attitude toward Collarspace is very negative, and that’s not because I am not a big fan of BDSM. It is all because Collarspace didn’t give me a chance to chat with other members or provide me with details on how to do that.
The neverending approval process of my account leaves only negative emotions. Besides, this site doesn’t look safe, and the people you can meet there only increase this feeling of uncertainty and unsafety.
So, even if I got an opportunity to chat with them, I am not sure whether I’d like that experience. Their fantasies are too sick, even for the BDSM world. I’d rather go for something more traditional like Benaughty or VictorialHearts.
